Insider’s Paris

Insider’s Paris

$4199 per person
6 days & 5 nights

Once you’ve been seduced by the Eiffel Tower, the Musée d’Orsay, and a Bateau Mouche in the City of Light, you’re ready to come back for a more in-depth, experience. Here’s your chance! In partnership with our publication Bonjour Paris, we’ve got a program giving you a taste of what makes Paris so special, from a local’s perspective. Our Expert Journalists will provide an insider’s peek into their Parisian world. We’re talking a visit of the famous St Ouen antiques market on the hunt for vintage fashion with a fashion blogger, a day at home with a sought-after floral designer who happens to be a garden expert, and a tour of an iconic Paris market and historic “bouillon” with an experienced chef and food writer. But that’s just a sampling of what we’ll do during this immersive Parisian week.

Are you made of hardy stuff? We’ll offer an optional, very early morning visit to Rungis, the biggest wholesale food market in the world (the one that supplies all of Paris’s restaurants), followed by breakfast. We’ll dine with the owner of a private Haussmannian apartment, enjoy a “speakeasy” bistrot run by young, up & coming chefs and take a lovely lunch in a pretty Parisian tea room – now we’re thinking about your taste buds! A guided visit of the art and furniture collection of a private mansion, a trip to a “parapharmacie” where Parisiennes buy all their beauty creams, and a bit of jazz until midnight. We’ve got so much up our sleeves for this experience, don’t hesitate to grab your spot!

1
Our Hand Picked Location
Paris has long held the title of the top travel destination in the world and is on most people’s bucket lists. No matter how many times you’ve visited, there is always magic and a certain “je ne sais quoi” to enjoy. Parisians are very proud of their beautiful city and our local Expert Writers and Guides are there to break it down and share it from their perspectives. You’ll eat like you’ve never eaten before, you’ll feel the vibe of artisans, artists, architects and garden designers, you’ll live the buzz of the boulevards and cafés, you’ll connect to the city’s history from Marie Antoinette to Haussmann, you’ll take the Métro, and you’ll be part of the daily rhythm of French life. Our immersive week will ensure the “real” Paris comes to life for you, not as a tourist, but as a local.
2
Your Home-away-from-Home
With 20 “arrondissements”, or neighborhoods, in Paris, we are spoiled for choice when it comes to accommodation. But be in no doubt, you won’t be staying in an anonymous chain hotel; you’ll wake up, having had a dreamy sleep, in a characterful bedroom where you’ll know you’re in Paris. We choose boutique hotels, transformed from former “hotels particuliers” or private mansions. Think sumptuous fabrics and pretty dining rooms, perhaps with a modern flair, and interior courtyards to cross on your way to breakfast. You’ll start the day with your new traveling companions, dipping croissants into your French coffee, and anticipating the activities to come. And we’ll be in a central neighborhood where we can walk to dinner, walk to cute shops and walk to our Métro station. This will all be part of the immersive, daily experience
3
What You’ll Enjoy
We’re bringing to life the “City of Light” like no other tour company. With years of publishing Bonjour Paris under our belts, we’ve got all our local contacts and writers on board to share what Parisians enjoy. We have four themes woven through our time and activities together:
  • Fashion: flea market, vintage and current designers
  • Art & Architecture: contemporary galleries and classic collections
  • Gardens & Flowers: centuries of design and chic, modern presentations
  • Food & Gastronomy: local produce, generations-old shops and restaurant history
Add to these, plenty of time to walk the boulevards and winding lanes, lunches and dinners in unique settings, a spot of shopping time, and the pleasure of it all with several new-found female friends, and you’ve got a one-of-a-kind Parisian experience!
4
What We’re Cooking Up for You
We’ll offer a few interactive activities, meeting local artisans in their homes and places of work, and opportunities to visit special places most visitors don’t have access to. Here’s just a little taste of what we are busy digging up and planning for you (most, but not all, will be confirmed on the final itinerary depending on availability):
  • Ice breaker evening Photo Safari
  • Vintage fashion shopping at the famous St Ouen flea market with a fashion blogger
  • Behind the scenes visit to a bespoke handbag artisan in the Haut Marais
  • Lunch in a restaurant designed by Philippe Starck
  • Jazz evening in a Paris wine bar
  • Private guided visit of a former Haussmannian mansion, including the family’s art and furniture collection
  • Ladies’ lunch in an exquisite tea room
  • Art dealer led walking tour of contemporary art galleries in a trendy neighborhood
  • A hands-on morning flower arranging workshop with a celebrated Paris floral designer (featured in magazines, books and contracted for the American Embassy)
  • A guided walk of the striking Bagatelle Gardens, featuring 3 centuries of garden design, originally laid out in 1775 by Queen Marie Antoinette
  • Foodie visit of the celebrated Aligré market, tasting charcuterie, cheese, wine and French bread, taking in covered passages and historic food shops.
  • History of French Gastronomy, visiting centuries-old dining rooms and “bouillons” with a food writer.
  • Shopping and presentation of a typical “parapharmacie”, mecca for French beauty creams and skincare
  • Optional visit of Rungis wholesale food market with producer’s breakfast – for the hearty souls (starts at 3am!)
5
Wining & Dining
Did we mention fantastic, delicious meals, using fresh seasonal ingredients, accompanied by French wines? But of course, “oui”! Every morning, you’ll be fuelled up with a “café au lait” breakfast of fresh pastries and more at our pretty boutique hotel before setting out on our Parisian adventures. Lunches and dinners will offer a variety of experiences, with at least two meals prepared at home by our hosts, to a “speak easy” style restaurant hidden from public view, to meals in chic, modern settings to a century’s old dining room in the form of a “Bouillon”. On the very last night, we encourage you to make your own discovery for dinner with your new friends, as we wind down to say “au revoir”.
6
How to Secure Your Place
We’ll only take from 7 – 12 lucky guests. Once we have formed our group, we will reserve our hotel rooms and put our final plans in place. We’ll also take a waiting list. We may also be able to extend rooms to women on our waiting list according to the accommodation available. A description of the hotel will be provided to our guests once secured, along with a detailed itinerary 2 months prior to departure. If you want to be part of our Insider’s Paris…for Women experience, don’t hesitate.
